Baking while "Staying at Home"

My husband has been baking his own bread for years. He learned to make his own starter and has since fed it and used it for over 5 years. Our homemade bread is wonderful and my kids love it. The house smells great and we can make hoagie rolls ourselves, dessert breads, and large slices of bread.

It is relatively simple to make your own starter:

Sourdough starter

You can also make your own pastas, pizza dough, raviolis, and calzones. 

It is a great way to bring the family together, to learn some cool science reactions, and a great life lesson.
